DAY 01: ARRIVE DELHI
On arrival you are met and transferred to your pre-booked hotel. After freshn up.This morning we visit Old Delhi, built in the 17th century by Shah Jehan the Magnificent (who also built the Taj Mahal). First we will be visiting the famous Jama Masjid mosque with its 9,000 sq. ft.courtyard, three domes and two minarets, and then proceed to the massive complex known as the Red Fort.
Afternoon we'll visit Lakshmi Narayan Temple, a Spectacular structure that's just 60 years old , and then proceed via India Gate and the Governmental building to Qutab Minar, the 240 foot tower built in 1190 to commemorate the arrival of Islam in India, the Bahai Temple with its nine pools on an elevated platform, and the Crafts Museum, which replicates and Indian street with over 50 artists and craftspeople at work. Overnight at the Hotel.
DAY 02: DELHI - JAIPUR BY ROAD 265 KMS 5 HOURS DRIVE
Morning drive to Jaipur.On arrival check in at Hotel . Evening we visit Chokhi Dhani where an ethnic village atmosphere is recreated each evening with thousands of oil lamps, folk dancers, arobats, snake charmers, puppeteers etc.Overnight at the Hotel .
DAY 03: JAIPUR
Jaipur popularly known as the Pink City , was built in 1727 AD by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Designed in accordance with Shilp Shastra- an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture - Jaipur follows a grid system. Today morning we visit the Amber Fort in the Aravali Hills, which is a super example of Rajput (Medieval Hindu) style architecture. A slow elephant ride takes us to the top of the Fort, which houses several graceful buildings. Afternoon - tour of City Palace and Observatory. The City Palacein the heart of the old city is a blend of Rajasthan and Mughal architecture. The Palace of winds - a five storied structure of pink sandstone has semi - octagonal and delicately honeycombed windows overlooking the main street of the old city. It was originally built to enable the ladies of the royalhousehold to watch everyday life..Overnight at Hotel .
DAY 04: JAIPUR - AGRA VIA FATEHPUR SIKIRI 235 KMS 5 HOURS DRIVE
This morning travel to to the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri ( ghost capital) for a tour of the magnificent and world heritage buildings still in a state of perfect preservation. We continue our journey for Agra and upon arrival check into Hotel.Overnight at Hotel .
DAY 05: AGRA - DELHI BY ROAD 210 KMS 4 HOURS DRIVE
Agra was the capital of India under the Moghuls n the 16th and 17th centuries.Early morning sun rise visit to Taj mahal mausoleum built by a sorrowing Shah Jehan in memory of his young wife, Mumtaz mahal. the building's stupendous scale, flawless symmetry, translucent white marble and shimmering reflection in the water channel are truly breathtaking and later we see the exquisite tomb of the emperor jehangir's chief minister and father-in - law, often called the 'baby taj' because its design foreshadows the Taj mahal. then we tour Agra's Red fort, built over three generations by the Mughal emperors. after visiting Agra drive back to Delhi.Overnight at hotel
DAY 06: DELHI - HARIDWAR BY SHATABDI EXPRESS DEP 06.55 HRS ARR 11.15 HARIDWAR - RISHIKESH BY ROAD 30 KMS 01 HOUR DRIVE
Morning transfer to railway station to board train for Haridwar.On arrival proceed to sightseeing tour of Haridwar visiting Mansa devi temple, Chandi devi temple etc. evening participate aarti and pooja at Hari ki paudi ,king Vikramaditya constructed this sacred ghat in memory of his brother Bhatrihari who it is believed had come to Haridwar to meditate on the banks of the Ganga. this ghat later came to be known as har-ki-pauri (also called Brahamakund). at twilight, golden hues of floral diyas reflected in the river Ganga present the most enchanting sight. the imprint of lord hari's footprint hallows the river bank temple here. the ghat is regarded the most sacred and auspicious point to bathe in the ganga during the Kumbh held after 12 years and ardh kumbh after 6 years. Later drive to Rishikesh.On arrival check in at hotel.Overnight at hotel
DAY 07: RISHIKESH
Morning sightseeing tour of Rishikesh visiting Bharat Mandir, Rishikund , Triveni Ghat , Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula etc.Overnight at Hotel
DAY 08: RISHIKESH - HARIDWAR BY ROAD 30 KM 01 HOUR DRIVE HARIDWAR - AMRITSAR BY JAN SHATABDI EXPRESS DEP 14.30 HRS ARR 21.45 HRS
After breakfast late morning transfer to Haridwar railway station to board train to Amritsar.On arrival transfer to your pre-booked Hotel.Overnight at hotel.
